Local Construction Focus
The Glasgow Construction Scene
Glasgow is experiencing a massive boom in commercial and residential developments, particularly around the Clyde Waterfront, the City Centre, and the East End regeneration zones. Major infrastructure projects, such as the redevelopment of Buchanan Galleries and ongoing work around the SEC Centre, mean that contractors are urgently seeking qualified labourers. Whether you're looking to work on the massive housing expansions in the East End or the high-rise office developments in the IFSD (International Financial Services District), holding a valid CSCS Green Card is an absolute necessity to get past the site gates.
"The e-learning course was brilliant and easy to follow. Got my certificate the same day as well. Simple process, practice the mock tests and you should pass the first time"

Glasgow CSCS Training FAQs
Q: Where are the biggest construction sites hiring in Glasgow?
There is consistent demand for labourers around major regeneration areas like the Clyde Gateway, various housing developments in the East End, the Buchanan Galleries redevelopment, and the ongoing modernization projects in the City Centre.
Q: Do Glasgow employers accept this remote CSCS certificate?
Absolutely. Our fully accredited Highfield Level 1 qualification is accepted by all major construction employers and contractors operating in Glasgow and across the UK. It is the mandatory first step before booking your CITB Touchscreen test.
Q: Will this course get me the CSCS Green Card directly?
No. You must also independently book and pass the CITB Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) test (often called the touchscreen test) which costs £22.50. This can be done before or after the Level 1 course, but it must be done. The final application for the physical CSCS Green Card costs £36.
Q: Are there local test centres in Glasgow for the CITB Touchscreen test?
Yes, once you complete our Level 1 course, you can book your CITB Touchscreen test at the Pearson VUE test centre located in Glasgow City Centre. Remember, this is a separate requirement from our course.
Q: How much does the complete CSCS Green Card journey cost in Glasgow?
Our Highfield Level 1 E-Learning course and remote exam is £130. You will also need to pay £22.50 directly to Pearson VUE for the CITB Touchscreen test, and finally £36 directly to CSCS for the physical card application.
Q: How long does the CSCS Green Card last once I receive it?
The physical CSCS Green Labourer Card is valid for exactly 5 years from the date of issue. To renew it after 5 years, you will typically only need to retake the CITB Touchscreen test.
Q: Can I get my CSCS Green Card certificate the same day in Glasgow?
Yes! Once you pass our remotely invigilated Highfield exam, you receive your digital exam result instantly on screen. Your e-certificate is issued within 24-48 hours, allowing you to proceed to the next step of the process.
Q: What ID do I need to take the remote Level 1 exam?
You will need a valid, government-issued photo ID — a passport or driving licence is ideal. Make sure your ID is not expired, as the session will not proceed without valid identification.
Q: What exactly is the Highfield Level 1 course?
The Highfield Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment is the nationally recognised qualification required by CITB to prove your competency before they allow you to apply for the CSCS Green Labourer Card.
Q: Can I use this card to work on the new Clyde Waterfront projects?
Yes, once you have fully completed both our Level 1 course and the CITB Touchscreen test, your CSCS Green Labourer Card is the mandatory baseline qualification for almost all active construction sites along the River Clyde.
